Awful news from Kelly Meding Dreg City series

I'm sure you all have heard, especially since I've been off for a week.  But Kelly Meding announced there will be no more Evy books.  Yes, her Dreg City series has come to an abrupt end since the sales are not there.

Kelly announced this on her blog March 30, 2012.  If you are curious you can visit her blog to get the details.

It's a shame.  I've enjoyed the series.  Yes, I'll admit I have one of the books on my shelf yet to read, but I bought it.

But, she does have another series that is out, and another book in that series coming in June.

The Meta War series:

  1. That is sad. The series has been on my TBR for a while. Do you know if she actually gave it an ending?

    1. Beth, no I don't for sure. I haven't read the last book yet. But I think she mentioned in her post that it's an end, but there are a few things that were left open to go on with another book. Nothing that is cliffhanger type ending, just little things to keep series going. I really want to get to the last book more so now. I hate hearing this about books I enjoy. Oh, well.

    2. I agree. It would suck if she didn't wrap it all up. I will have to stay tuned when you read the last book. See if all the questions they always leave open are still open.

    3. I'm going to have to see about getting to this finish this series sooner than later. Now, when can I slip it in. *sigh* I did enjoy it.

  2. Aw... I hope she does wrap up things. These books are on my wishlist. Even a short for fans on her blog would be nice.

    1. Melissa, do still get them. They are very very good reads. :) I'm going to have to see about finishing them off. BUt that is a good idea to do something on the blog or such too. Some authors have done that.

  3. I never read this series but I am so sad to hear that. I feel bad for the author because I bet she had all these ideas for future books that now she has to scrap.

    1. Yes, Jennifer L. Bielman. I really feel bad for the author as well. But I'm still going to pick up and read these books. :) I enjoyed the first two, have the third here, and will get the fourth. :) THank you!

  4. I feel bad for this author and her fans. It doesn't seem fair that a publisher can pull the plug on such a well-received series.

    1. StephanieD, I know! I hate when books get stopped. Sad. And I can only imagine how Kelly feels. I'm going to get the fourth book (as I thought I had picked it up already, but didn't) and have it here to read. Thank you!

  5. I know that the above posts are old, but I just came across this series and I am on the fourth book. When I went to search to find out when the fifth book was coming out, I found this site. Is she still not going to write a fifth book, or did she change her mind? I LOVE this series!!!
